The Hopeful Theatre Project is seeking a talented Costume Designer for our upcoming production of The Little Mermaid at the historic Kalita Humphreys Theater in Dallas, TX.

📅 Load-In Begins: June 12, 2025
🎭 Tech Week: Begins June 16, 2025
🎟️ Performance Dates: June 20-22, 2025
💰 Stipend Available

Responsibilities:

• Design and coordinate costumes that bring the magical underwater world of The Little Mermaid to life.
• Source most costumes from other theatres and costume rental shops.
• Work within a budget to pull, alter, and assemble costumes as needed.
• Ideally, create a few original costume pieces for key characters.
• Attend fittings, dress rehearsals, and tech week to ensure costumes function well on stage.
• Collaborate with the production team to maintain a cohesive visual aesthetic.

Ideal Candidate:

• Experience in costume design for theatre productions.
• Ability to alter and modify rented or purchased costumes.
• Basic sewing and costume construction skills (preferred but not required).
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Availability for fittings, tech rehearsals, and performances.
