Theatre Off The Square

A Twisted Christmas Carol is a Texas spoof of Charles Dickens' classic A Christmas Carol. It’s Christmas Eve in a small west Texas town, and cantankerous barbecue joint owner Buford Johnson gets in an argument with his wife Darla, tells her he's skipping Christmas, storms out of the restaurant, goes four-wheeling in his pickup, gets hit by a twister, rolls his truck, and goes into a coma. He comes back in his dream where he's visited by ex-business partner, Hank Walker, who plays the ghost of Christmas past, present, and future. Hank takes Buford on a journey similar to Scrooge's in A Christmas Carol, only Texas-style.

The Beulaville Baptist Book Club Presents: A Bur-Less-Q Nutcracker!
MBS Productions
Sep 28 - Oct 1
Are you tired of the typical Holiday shows? Come check ours out! The women of the Beulaville Baptist Book Club are in dire straits financially, and as a last-ditch attempt to save their book club they decide to do a fundraiser and hire the Beaumont Ballet to perform Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker”. Madge’s Piña Colada Casserole unfortunately sickens the entire cast with food poisoning, and they are unable to perform. Luckily, there is another dance troop in town. It seems the Velvet Kittens Burlesque Dancers are stuck in Beulaville because their van broke down on their way to New Orleans. Madge has never heard of Burlesque, or as she pronounces it “Bur-less-Q”, and in an act of necessity hires the dance troupe to do “The Nutcracker”. The end result? The most original, unusual, and comical Nutcracker you have ever seen! With over 385 performances so far it has become the longest running Nutcracker in Texas history and developed a cult-like following with audiences. Winner of the 2014 National Goldstar Nutcracker Award aka "The Nutty” for being America’s favorite Nutcracker. This show will be celebrating its 400th performance during the run!

A Chorus Line

Theatre Arlington
Oct 12
A Chorus Line is a celebration of those unsung heroes of the American Musical Theatre: the chorus dancers — those valiant, over dedicated, underpaid, highly trained performers who back up the star or stars and often make them look even more talented than they are. It is also a celebration of the American Musical itself. A Chorus Line is also about competition, and competition might easily be the common denominator that grabs the audience and holds it by the collective heartstring until the final, ultimate choices are made. For everyone, at one time or another, puts his life on the line. We all compete, no matter what business we’re in, for promotion, for attention, for approval and for love. Specifically, A Chorus Line takes the audience through the final grueling audition for a new Broadway musical.
