An innocent man, Richard Hannay, gets caught up in a web of espionage and murder in 1930s London. He encounters a cast of quirky characters as he fights to clear his name and uncover the secrets of the 39 Steps in this fast-paced comedic thriller.

- Be prepared to list all conflicts on weeknights and weekends.
- No conflicts allowed during Tech week or Performance dates.
- All cast members will receive a stipend. Actor stipends start at $300.

COVID-19 Policy
Theatre Frisco will be using only fully vaccinated cast, crew production team on this production.
Rehearsals
- Rehearsals will be determined following casting.
- Typical rehearsal schedule may consist of Monday – Thursday weeknights 7 – 10 pm and weekends (either Saturday mornings / afternoon or Sunday afternoons / evenings).
- Tech week is Sunday April 27 – May 1.
Performances
- May 2 – May 18
- Friday / Saturday 8 pm & Saturday / Sunday 2:30 pm
- 2 Saturday matinees May 10 & 17
- No Saturday evening performance May 10

Richard Hannay

1930s leading man type. Suave, dashing and debonaire. Intelligent and resourceful. Actor must be able to maintain an upper-class British accent and be an adept physical comic with the stamina to be present for the entire play.
Annabella/Pamela/Margaret
30’s - 50’s
Female presenting
Any race or ethnicity
Primarily the classic 1930s British ingenue, but also plays a Russian woman and a Scottish farmer. Must be able to perform all of the applicable accents. Must be an adept physical comic and create all three very different characters.
Clown #1 & Clown #2
Any age
Any gender, race, or ethnicity
The two clowns portray over 150 roles over the course of the play and are essentially everyone that the two leads are not. They must be physically agile and have a great deal of stamina, in addition to having a slew of accents (especially European) and voices at their disposal. Exemplary comedic timing is essential! Must be able to lift certain set pieces and move adroitly throughout the stage and between roles.
